DCCS Student performs an internship on the project “Women Entrepreneurs” in Vienna

Vienna, Austria.

By the end of October, the 3-month research internship being carried out in Vienna by Ignacio Toledo, student of the Doctorate in Social Complexity Sciences, in the project “Women Entrepreneurs” will end.

This project is a four-year program of research, innovation and exchange of personnel, which is part of the Framework Program of the European Union Horizon 2020, whose strategic objectives are: 1) to create a science of excellence, to strengthen the position of the EU on the world scene; 2) to develop technologies and their applications to improve European competitiveness; and 3) to investigate about the main problems that may affect European citizens.

Specifically, the Women Entrepreneurs project, led by Professor Käthe Schneider of the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, Thuringia, Germany -and associated with other institutions, including Universidad del Desarrollo-, aims to better understand the basic entrepreneurial capabilities of women entrepreneurs at an early stage and to develop an online educational and training program that allows women entrepreneurs in Germany and Ireland to develop these fundamental skills, in order to facilitate their entrepreneurial success.

In this context, Ignacio Toledo -who is currently at 3S Unternehmensberatung GmbH, an adult education consulting company doing the internship-, is evaluating aspects of the project -which is in evaluation phase- from a quantitative approach, using the database of the online platform and surveys the participants responded during this project development. It is expected that the results of his research will be published in an open-access scientific journal. At the same time, the candidate for PhD. is visiting various research centers and professors working on issues related to the Research Center for Social Complexity (CICS, as its Spanish acronym), in order to explore possible collaborations.
