La cooperaci\u00f3n es un fen\u00f3meno desconcertante desde el punto de vista de la econom\u00eda ortodoxa y la psicolog\u00eda evolutiva, porque la cooperaci\u00f3n confiere beneficios al grupo mientras que disminuye las ganancias individuales (y por lo tanto la idoneidad) del cooperador.<\/p>\n<p>En CICS estudiamos la cooperaci\u00f3n humana utilizando los m\u00e9todos de la teor\u00eda de juegos conductuales y la econom\u00eda experimental. En lugar de utilizar estudiantes universitarios como sujetos experimentales, llevamos nuestro laboratorio al campo. Nuestros sujetos pertenecen a comunidades de pesca artesanal que enfrentan un dilema social de la vida real: la explotaci\u00f3n de las pesquer\u00edas bent\u00f3nicas a lo largo de la costa central de Chile. Estas comunidades pesqueras ofrecen un escenario ideal para el estudio de la cooperaci\u00f3n, ya que cada comunidad se auto organiza para cogestionar su pesquer\u00eda y aplica colectivamente sus regulaciones autoimpuestas. El desempe\u00f1o de estas comunidades es muy heterog\u00e9neo, lo que permite la investigaci\u00f3n de los determinantes del comportamiento cooperativo.<\/p>\n<p>Algunos de nuestros primeros hallazgos se pueden encontrar en este <a href=\"http:\/\/complejidadsocial.udd.cl\/2013\/publications\/exploring-external-validity-of-common-pool-resource-experiments-insights-from-artisanal-benthic-fisheries-in-chile\/\">paper<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>En este proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n en curso, el equipo de CICS colabora con el Dr. Stefan Gelcich (Facultad de Ciencias Biol\u00f3gicas, Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile), que es un experto en
