The most outstanding Chilean primatologist, Isabel Behncke Izquierdo has been trained \u2013 in Cambridge and Oxford \u2013 in the study of animal behavior and evolutionary anthropology.<\/p>\n

Since her doctoral work, she has specialized in the study of the social behavior of the wild Bonobos of the Congo, one of the living animals closest to humans together with chimpanzees.<\/p>\n

In addition to her work as a scientist, the researcher has stood out as a major international lecturer, highlighting, for example, her TED talk about the Bonobos game practices (she is also affiliated as a Fellow to this entity) or the many talks she has given in Chile, like the recent exhibition during Fundaci\u00f3n Chile\u2019s anniversary.<\/p>\n

Isabel will join the Social Complexity Research Center, keeping her relationship with the Social and Evolutionary Neuroscience Research Group of Oxford University, and will work in the research area of Social Dynamics, where she is already collaborating with one of the Students of the PhD program in Social Complexity at CICS.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
