{"id":3732,"date":"2020-01-31T18:42:51","date_gmt":"2020-01-31T21:42:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/complejidadsocial.udd.cl\/?p=3732"},"modified":"2020-01-31T18:42:51","modified_gmt":"2020-01-31T21:42:51","slug":"the-dccs-cics-has-a-new-doctorate-graduate-in-social-complexity-sciences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gobierno.udd.cl\/cics\/2020\/01\/31\/the-dccs-cics-has-a-new-doctorate-graduate-in-social-complexity-sciences\/","title":{"rendered":"The DCCS CICS has a new doctorate graduate in Social Complexity Sciences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3734 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/gobierno.udd.cl\/cics\/files\/2020\/06\/20200129_143715-e1580496896990-768x1024-1-650x867.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accompanied by family, friends and DCCS students, <\/span><b>Jorge Urrutia Mosquera<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, of the Doctorate in\u00a0 Social Complexity Sciences (DCCS) belonging to the second generation of doctoral students of the Program, this Wednesday, January 29th, presented his public defense to apply for the degree of Doctor in Social Complexity Sciences, at the RESB Campus of the Universidad del Desarrollo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The student presented his research work &#8220;Latent demands and travel behavior in the city: Measurement of the impact of fiscal incentives on the consumption of low emission vehicles and measurement of the impact of mixed land use and density of points of interest on travel behavior&#8221;, being approved by the thesis committee which included the participation of Professors PhD Elisabetta Cherchi, Professor of Transport, Newcastle University, and H\u00e9ctor L\u00f3pez, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, as well as Jorge F\u00e1brega and Rodrigo Troncoso from the UDD.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The presentation was made in front of an audience composed of the Dean of the Faculty of Government, Eugenio Guzm\u00e1n; the Vice-Rector for Research and Doctorates, Sergio Hern\u00e1ndez; the Director of Research and Doctorates, Denise Saint-Jean, the Doctorate in Social Complexity Sciences Director, Jorge F\u00e1brega, and the Professor of the Faculty of Government, Juan Pablo Couyoumdjian.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Urrutia, who holds a degree in Mathematics and Physics from the Universidad Tecnol\u00f3gica del Choc\u00f3, and a Master&#8217;s degree in Operations Research and Statistics from the Universidad Tecnol\u00f3gica de Pereira, Colombia, entered the Doctorate in Social Complexity Sciences in 2015, forming part of the second generation of doctoral students participating in this program. His research areas were focused on Discrete Choice Model, Decision Processes and Travel Behavior.
