Accommodation & Meal

Chilean universities do not provide any on-campus student residence, however the program can help you to find a Chilean host family or a private apartment free of charge. Before your arrival date, we will provide you with full information about the exact cost (rent and deposit) of the accommodation, as well as the full address and contact details of the landlord/family.

Accommodation Options:

Chilean host family– Living with a Chilean host family is the preferred option for those who wish to extend their practice of Spanish outside the classroom and learn about the Chilean lifestyle. You’ll have your own room, and the rest of the house is shared with the family. The cost for room and half-board (breakfast and dinner) with a Chilean host family ranges between $ 450-600 per month. Utility and Internet fees are usually included.

Private Apartment– If you prefer a bit more space and autonomy, individual apartments are available. They usually include a kitchen, bathroom, 1 or 2 bedrooms, and living room with dinning space. Apartments furnished with study table, bed, closet, microwave and fridge are available upon request. The cost for an apartment ranges between $400-700 per month, plus utility and Internet costs.

Please Note:We do our very best to find and reserve what we know from our experience is the most suitable accommodation. However, as every people has different needs and requirements, we cannot guarantee that everyone will be satisfied with the accommodation we find for them, and we cannot comply with any special requests regarding accommodation (i.e. location, size, number of bathrooms etc.), neither can we make changes of the accommodation we have reserved for you before, upon and after your arrival.

Therefore students with special needs or requests can opt to book their own accommodation, just let us know. The program can provide you with information and contacts in finding a suitable place to live in Santiago. It is your responsibility to find a place that suits your need during your stay.

Cafeteria– located next to the teaching building and has two separate floors that offer students variety of lunch options. As part of the benefit, program students can enjoy for free a standard lunch combo that usually includes soup, bans, main dish, simple salad, coffee/tea and pastry.
